Celebrating our thirty-first year of service, W.A. Hynes & Company, Inc. (waHco) has been providing exceptional Information Technology and Professional Staffing consulting services since 1976. What started out as two people with a passion for the industry and the desire to build a solid community of technical resources grew into what they perceive is “…the kind of company that we always wanted to work for”.

The company grew using the philosophy of treating our consultants as “our most important asset”. When the 1986 federal tax reform changed the requirements for independent consultants (1706) we responded to our clients' concerns and converted all of our consultants to W-2 employees. Many of those same valuable I.T. professionals that began working with us in 1976, are still members of our consulting team today. These members of our waHco family are well recognized and respected for their quality and professionalism throughout the industry.

Establishing and maintaining long term relationships is our top priority at waHco. Emphasis on redeployment lends to a retention rate of greater than five years. Our resources are well known to us, as over 90% are employees of our organization, participating in a comprehensive incentive & benefits plan. The ability to maintain these established relationships – unique to our industry - allows us to retain expert technology resources through the complete lifecycle of client projects. Jane, along with her husband Smokey Hynes, founded W.A. Hynes & Company, Inc. in 1976 on the premise that our I.T. Consultants are our most valuable assets – “Take excellent care of the employees, and they’ll treat your clients like gold.” The truth of this principle is best exemplified by a greater than five year retention rate of our I.T. Consultant Employees, and long-term (15 – 25 year) relationships with many of our Clients. As a founding member of our organization, Jane’s concentration has been on the Back-Office, overseeing core operations and policy development. Serving as our President, CEO & CFO, Jane has over 33 years of accounting and business management experience.

Smokey & Jane Hynes founded W.A. Hynes & Company, Inc. over thirty years ago on two basic principles: “If you can’t put your name on it – don’t do it.” and “Always do your best to add value to the clients and employees of our Service Community.” Prior to starting waHco, Smokey was the Vice President of Operations for one of the first IT Consulting companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Smokey is the founding Technology Leader of our organization. He has an extensive background and highly respected reputation as a premier Project Manager, Senior Systems Analyst and Consultant.

Evan joined W.A. Hynes & Company, Inc. in 1999 after guiding the sales organization of another NACCB member firm from $6 Million to over $25 Million in revenues over a three year period. As a business leader of this profitable organization, he played a key-role in positioning the firm for acquisition by a national staffing firm in 1998.

Evan has been a participating member of the NACCB since 1997, and is currently a Board Member of the Northern California Chapter, serving a seat on the organizations national board and as Legislative Chair. With over 25 years of Sales & Management experience, his background also includes ventures as a freelance graphic artist, starting a successful cellular telephone retailer, and building a $30+ Million sales division of a national Value Added Reseller (VAR) from start-up. A native Californian, Evan is also a U.S. Navy veteran, and published satirical cartoonist.

Management Philosophy

With over 31 years in the IT Consulting and Professional Staffing industries, waHco enjoys an extensive network with an established resource and infrastructure support base. This ensures excellent performance from our Employees in servicing our Clients’ requirements. Our philosophy dictates that in providing excellent service, there should be no surprises regarding the performance of any individuals or ultimate outcome of the work product. This is accomplished by first providing resources with proven experience and then monitoring their performance and successes throughout the project.

Our Project & Account Management professionals utilize a complete suite of automated Business & Project Management tools, ensuring the quality of our deliverables meets or exceeds our Clients’ expectations. Our Account Managers serve an enhanced project management role, accountable for the performance of our People and the success of the Client Project. This role requires a collaborative approach, which allows the client managers to concentrate more on the business or technology aspects of their projects, rather than personnel issues.
